Horizon Ridge is a group of four fine singers, songwriters and players with a passion for all kinds of music. Multi-instrumentalists Dianne Quinton, Steve Goodchild, Helen Goodchild and Peter May blend rich voices and diverse musical backgrounds to bring a respectful appreciation for the different styles of songs they play.
With influences from traditional and contemporary folk, country, blues, and rock to gospel, they are versatile and adventurous. Throw in some traditional and contemporary a capella and you have a band that is truly multifaceted. Their repertoire includes a variety of original compositions and covers.
The band members, who are based in Calgary, Alberta, have played festivals, music clubs, coffee houses and house concerts in Alberta, British Columbia, the US, and UK. Summer 2016 saw them touring Newfoundland and British Columbia. They have also delivered music instruction in individual and group settings. Most recently, Horizon Ridge taught harmony singing in an extended weekend class format at the Foothills Acoustic Music Institute (www.fami.ca) - a real thrill!
The summer of 2017 will see Horizon Ridge playing multiple shows at the Calgary Stampede, concerts in southern British Columbia, and a multi-day appearance at the 118th Interior Provincial Exhibition in Armstrong, BC.
