Workshops and Classes
Horizon Ridge teaches a variety of workshops/classes including Vocal Harmony, Folk Ensemble, Country Ensemble, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and bass. Settings for workshops have included private events, festivals and music camps. Our goal is for learning to be fun, so we’re intentional in creating a safe and supportive environment for all involved.
Here are some examples of what we offer. If you require something different, we can customize a workshop/class for you based on your group/audience needs:

Vocal Harmony
Taught as a quartet – anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2 – 3 day music camps. On occasion, we teach a Vocal Harmony workshop the afternoon before an evening concert and then have the workshop participants join us on stage to perform a song they learned. People have loved it and lots of pictures and video get taken by friends and family in the audience.
Depending on the length of the workshop/class and experience of the participants, topics may include knowing and singing the melody, finding and learning different harmony parts, finding the right key for a song, choosing harmony notes, learning by ear and learning how to “blend” with other voices in terms of tone and expression.

What Others Are Saying
“We loved the class! Besides being a ton of fun, we learned so much. Neither of us had any idea how much there is to harmony singing and I’m sure there is even more. All of you were wonderful instructors, immensely talented and very supportive through our many mistakes and fear. It was nice to get to know all of you. We look forward to working to improve our singing and trying harmony.”
“Dianne, Peter, Helen and Steve were fantastic teachers! Supportive, knowledgeable, and beautiful singers, all. They provided a perfect balance of theory and practice; and their demos were not only educational but hugely inspiring. Loved the class!”
